1205-1GL
A multi-season, self-polishing antifouling paint developed as an alternative to tin-based formulas, providing equivalent protection in the harshest marine environments.
Dual-biocide formula with PL3 polymer controlled-release technology: 38.06% cuprous oxide (717 g/L) plus 4.14% (78 g/L) co-biocide. Semi-gloss finish; 57% volume solids; VOC 377 g/L. TBT-free, Lloyd's Register certified. For previously painted surfaces, fiberglass and vinyl ester hulls, wood, and steel vessels as part of a paint system. Aluminum hulls only over the barrier coat system in Sea Hawk Technical Bulletin AL1284 — not for bare aluminum. Check the Sea Hawk Compatibility Chart before applying over existing bottom paint. Apply by brush, solvent-resistant 3/8" nap roller, or airless or conventional spray.
Contents: one 1-gallon can. Single-component — no catalyst, no induction time. Copper settles in transit: mix thoroughly with a power mixer or shaker until uniform before use. Thin only if necessary, up to 10% with Sea Hawk 2033 or 2035 (new bare wood: first coat only reduced 20% with 2033, per the TDS).
Coverage: 315 sq ft per gallon (theoretical) at 2.9 mils DFT — this 1-gallon can covers approx. 315 sq ft per coat. Pleasure craft: 3.0 mils DFT (5.3 mils wet) per coat, 2 coats on the entire hull plus a 3rd at the waterline and high-wear areas.
Dry times: touch dry 2 hrs at 73°F, 1 hr at 95°F. Recoat after 1 hr minimum, no maximum. Launch after 12 hrs minimum. Apply when air and surface temperatures are above 50°F.
